If you don't know delicious, it's well worth investigating. A good way to store bookmarks online, especially if, like me, you work at several different computers; also a good way to share bookmarks with others, using "tags" or labels. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed for a particular set of tags.

A very warm thank you to all of you who attended my session today at 11 on "Creatively Using Internet Communication Technology in Higher Education". I was rather nervous as it was the first time for me to give a presentation using my Macintosh laptop. However, all went very smoothly.

I would also like to thank my MC, Prof. Shimatani from Kumamoto University, and the two assistants in the LL who helped me get set up before the presentation. They were very efficient and very helpful. And of course, thanks to the young "arbeiter" from KSU who stood outside and passed out the handouts.

I really like the fact that technology is now so easy to use, I don't have to spend a lot of time learning it. Technology should be like a pencil or an electronic dictionary: it needs at most 20-30 minutes to learn the basics. In the case of the Macintosh, all I had to do was plug it in and switch on!

I stayed in the same room and listened to Terry Laskowski's talk on "Technology can bite back!" A very interesting look at some reasons to be careful when (or preferably before) adopting technology for education.
